Town Meeting: A Juniors Perspective

When I saw the town meeting announcement made by the SCARS service learning group of Sage Hill, I was very excited. The group showed us a video for an event called "Tough Mudder," an intense 12 mile obstacle course to help raise money for our veterans. The race is on March 28. and those who are under 18 at the time are still able to help giving out waters to those participating in the obstacle course. The obstacle course looks very challenging but wildly fun. Apart from watching the video, the group also talked about the importance of veterans in our community and how we should appreciate them. Mr. Anderson's recognition of the veterans in our Sage community helped me connect to the topic even more.
The only bout of disappointment came when I found out that you must be 18 to participate in the actual obstacle course. However, my sadness soon turned to excitement when I heard I could still participate as a volunteer helper.
