8:30-9: Update Daily blog and set goals
9-10: Brainstorm and finalize fundraiser idea
10-11: Make final flyer
11-1:45: Go to Kinkos to print out flyers, talk to CHA for tea about possible sponsorship (very viable), distribute flyers in different shopping compexes, get lunch
Lunch- Return: Distribute flyers in different shopping complexes and set up meeting with Amy Riviera
Update as of 10:15:
We are in the process of making a PayPal account but will not be set up until the end of the day. Therefore, the majority of our flyer is finished, excluding our donations account. Thus, we will not be traveling to Kinkos, but will be getting lunch. The delay in the account set up is due to Logan's mom needing time to set up an account for us to use because we need a person of 18 years of age.
Additionally, we will be meeting with Amy Riviera on February 8th over Skype to get the information we need about the Wounded Warrior Project. This is a big step because we are getting closer to volunteer opportunities at camp pendleton.
We are cooperating CHA for tea to try to get 2 hours of profit from their store. This seems to be a very viable option. Additionally, once our flyers are done, we will be posting them at shopping complexes in order to get money into our accounts. Also, we may be setting up a donations table or holding a garage sale/ car wash.
Afternoon Update:
Setting up the paypal account is still in progress. As soon as the account is set up, we will be able to finalize the flyers. The current flyer looks like this:
We will post the flyer at local businesses like Starbucks that get a lot of traffic.
We also went to Cha and got more details about a fundraising opportunity. The manager there told us that we would need to have an estimate on the number of people, an exact date, and they would confirm the amount of time for the fundraiser. They told us we will get $1 for every large drink sold and $0.50 for every regular size drink. Some dates we think would be possible will be Friday the 14th and Friday the 28th. The funds we raise from this event will pay for us to make more flyers to distribute locally.
Another possibility we are considering with was partnering with a senior group that also does work with Veterans. They are looking to organize a paintball tournament, and if we combined forces we could make a bigger event.
